Awards dinner for the 2008 fishing season was held at the Brick and Rail Restaurant in Wantagh,  NY on March 9, 2009.  Once again we were very pleased to have had many Striper Surf Club Alumni Members and Guests present at our Annual Dinner.

Congratulations to the Striper Surf Club Fisherman who received the following 2008 awards:

John Citarella, 2008 New York State Surf Fishing Contest - Gold Pin  for 215 Striped Bass Points, 280 Bluefish Points for a total of 495 Points and a 12th place finish out of 200 anglers in the New York State contest.

Bill Davison, 2008 New York State Surf Fishing Contest -  Silver Pin for 117 Striped Bass Points for a total of 205 Points and a 33rd place finish out of 200 contestants in the New York State contest

Rick Zappala, 2008 New York State Surf Fishing Contest -  Bronze Pin for 106 Striped Bass Points, 36 Bluefish Points for a total of 142 Points and a 49th place finish out of 200 anglers in the New York State contest.

John O'Keefe, 2008 New York State Surf Fishing Contest -  Bronze Pin for 63 Striped Bass Points, 60 Bluefish Points for a total of 123 Points and a 55th place finish out of 200 anglers in the New York State contest.

Steve Knapik, 2008 New York State Surf Fishing Contest -  Bronze Pin for 71 Striped Bass Points, 51 Bluefish Points for a total of 122 Points and a 56th place finish out of 200 anglers in the New York State contest.

John Citarella, "2008 Mr. Striper Surf Club Award" for Outstanding performance New York State Surf Fishing Contest, Striped Bass 215 Points, Bluefish 280 Points, Total 495 points. John has now won this award four years in a row.
