This page was developed so surf fisherman can share tips on catching the big one or just making your night at the beach more pleasant. If you have a tip or trick you would like to share then email us at webmaster@stripersurfclub.com. Photos are welcomed! Thanks SSC, January 2006
SSC Tackle Tip Many surf fisherman like to use teasers with bombers, but how many of you use them with bucktails? Try it, you will find that you may get many more hits when the fishing is slow.
SSC Tackle Tip: "After each trip to the surf you should wash down all your equipment with fresh water and allow to dry. Also, inspect your guides for small cracks using a cotton ball. Don't forget to loosen your drags before storing away the rod."
SSC Beach Buggy Tip: Airing Down/Up To make life at little easier when driving on the beach try using a set of Oasis Tire Deflators design to deflate tires in seconds with pre-set p.s.i. When you want to air up each tire in less than 1 minute try using a Co2 tank such as the "Ultimate Air Co2 Tank". These devices will save you time and aggravation as well as getting you on the beach faster and back home sooner!

Build Your Own Wader Belt to your specs!
I know the photo
is not the greatest but I had the Velcro and the SS dive buckle stitched onto the
dive belt by a shoemaker. Should the stainless steel dive buckle pop open (very
rare) the belt would never slip off my waders because of the Velcro backup. You should use a stiff nylon dive belt, not
some of the flimsy soft stuff out there. You can get a stiff heavy duty Nylon belt at any good dive
shop. It pays to buy the better material since
many of us pay big bucks for Boga Grips, knives and cutting pliers. It's not
worth the aggravation to replace expensive equipment. This outfit will last you
years!
The stainless Dive Buckle has a expanding spring that expands with your waist
when taking deep breaths or when rock hopping. It's a very nice feature!
I think I paid less than $32.00 for the belt, buckle and the Velcro. To have it
stitched by a shoemaker was about $10.00. The Boga Grip in the photo is
attached to a Boga Gear Keeper with retractable 80# lanyard. (Check it out at
