JONES BEACH WEST END (CONSTRUCTION DOCK)
SATURDAY APRIL 24, 2010

Our Long Island soldier serving with them in Afghanistan is Sgt. Fred Manney. (Far right from Bethpage, N.Y.)
The Striper Surf Club, Inc. held it's 9th Annual Beach Clean Up at the Jones Beach State Park, West End north side parking area on Saturday April 12, 2008. Once again, this year's event was a great success with nearly 75 local volunteers removing debris, and household garbage from our beautiful beaches. This year's weather was beautiful with sunny skies and warm summer like temperatures
Everyone
left with not only a good feeling about keeping our beaches clean but with a
full stomach and a few nice raffle prizes. We would like to also thank all the
hard working members of the Striper Surf Club for putting this all together and
the NYS Parks Department.
We had representations from several fishing
clubs Gateway Striper Club, Mid-Island Surfcasters,
High Hill Striper Club, Bayside Anglers Group, LTD., CCA, LIBBA, MSA,
NYCRF, and many non-club members as well as
the loving family and friends of surfcaster Kurt Stokes. If I left anyone out
please forgive us.
Once again we had many contributing
tackle sponsors. Please frequent these retailers, guides and tackle shops.

The Striper Surf Club, Inc. would like to say Thank You for all your help! Keeping these beaches clean and access open is an important issue to all surf clubs and surf rats. We care about our environment and the people who came to help demonstrated that volunteerism is still alive and well on Long Island. Those who brought their children to the clean up get an extra thank you! You lead by example! It was also nice to meet & put faces with the folks here on the internet!
