The Striper Surf Club, Inc. held it's 11th Annual Beach Clean Up at the Jones Beach State Park, West End north side parking area on Saturday April 21, 2012. Once again, this year's event was a great success with nearly 40 local volunteers removing debris, and household garbage from our beautiful beaches.
Everyone
left with not only a good feeling about keeping our beaches clean but with a
full stomach and a few nice raffle prizes. We would like to also thank all the
hard working members of the Striper Surf Club for putting this all together and
the NYS Parks Department.
We had representations from several fishing
clubs Gateway Striper Club, Bayside Anglers Group, LTD., CCA, LIBBA, MSA,
NYCRF, and many non-club members. If I left anyone out
please forgive us.
Once again we had many contributing
tackle sponsors. Please frequent these retailers, guides and tackle shops.
They are Causeway B&T of Wantagh, Kwaks B&T of Wantagh, CCA, LIBBA,
NYCRF, MSA, LIBBA, Bill Wetzel, Flex Coat Products, Merrick Bait & Tackle,
West End Fishing Tackle, Long Island Outdoorsman,
Surfrats.com, Brian Yuska, Majors Steak House, Super Strike Lures,
LunkerTip.com, Oceanside & Baldwin Dunkin
Donuts, Uncle Josh Pork Rinds, Striper Surf Club members
and Families.
The Striper Surf Club, Inc. would like to say Thank You for all your help! Keeping these beaches clean and access open is an important issue to all surf clubs and surf rats. We care about our environment and the people who came to help demonstrated that volunteerism is still alive and well on Long Island. Those who brought their children to the clean up get an extra thank you! You lead by example!
